Our Technology

With so many eye care options to choose from, it’s important to know what sets Lumen Vision apart. As one of Fargo’s newest optometry clinics, we boast the most cutting-edge technology and services to make your eye exam simple, efficient, and thorough.

  • Retinal image showing the optic disc at the center and blood vessels spreading outwards.

    Wide-Field Retinal Imaging

Wide-field retinal imaging (Optomap) captures a wider view of the retina than a typical dilated exam and saves the image to your chart, so we can compare it year to year. It can catch things a dilated exam may miss, and most patients like skipping the dilation drops. If an image shows something that needs a closer look, we may still recommend dilation.

  • A modern, sleek, automatic tonometer.

    iCare Tonometry

Do you remember getting the “puff test” at your last eye exam? Antiquated technology which shoots air at the eye to check the pressure was often times the scariest part of the eye exam experience. It’s important to check the pressure inside your eye because it’s an indicator of serious eye conditions like glaucoma, but with our iCare tonometer, we don’t puff air at your eyes!

  • Medical device with a screen displaying information and diagrams, used for eye examinations or diagnostics.

    Advanced Eye Imaging

Lumen Vision has the latest technology in optical coherence tomography, keratography, and automated perimetry. We are able to manage and treat a variety of common eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, keratoconus, and retinal holes.
