CLINICAL DIRECTOR

My name is Laura. I am the clinical director and optical manager at Lumen Vision. I have over 20 years of customer service experience and 10 years in the eye care industry. I am proud to be part of a team that is so passionate about helping others. My favorite part of my job is getting to know our patients better and helping them find the perfect pair of glasses. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors at the lake or at the baseball field with my husband Mark, our two teenage boys, and our yellow lab.

DIRECTOR OF OPTICAL

Hello! My name is Michelle. I have over 25 years of customer service experience. I am newer to the optical industry. I am very excited to be a part of the wonderful team here at Lumen Vision. I really like the fact that Dr. Ryan gives back to our community. I enjoy meeting and talking with new people in all walks of life. I look forward to meeting and helping our patients with their optical needs. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jason, our two teenage daughters, and our cute Cockapoo.

OPTICAL COORDINATOR

Hi, I'm Amanda! I have over 10 years of customer service experience. I'm new to the optical industry. I joined Lumen Vision in July 2025. I obtained my degree in Retail Merchandising, which is how I feel in love with helping people and my attention to detail. I can't wait to get to know our patients and help them find their perfect pair of glasses that they can feel confident in. I'm excited to work for a team that is passionate about what they do and helping others. 

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband Chase and our dog Harper. In my spare time I enjoy being around our family and friends, reading, being at the lake, gardening, or doing anything creative. 

REGISTERD NURSE - TECH DIRECTOR

Hi there – my name is Mandy! I have almost 15 years of experience in the medical field as a Registered Nurse. I am originally from south central North Dakota and received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck. I am thrilled to be working in the eye care industry. I first came to Lumen Vision as the mom of a vision therapy kiddo. I fell in love with the passion and knowledge that Dr. Ryan and his staff displayed during our time here and I’m so excited to now be a part of this amazing team. I reside in Dilworth MN with my husband Ross, our daughter Keena, and our beagle Schooner. In our spare time, I enjoy being outside, gardening and spending our summer weekends at Ottertail Lake or RVing with extended family.

OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN

Hi, I'm Abby! I've been an optometric technician for three years and joined Lumen Vision in July 2025 to be part of a team that shares my passion for patient-centered care. I obtained my degree in Interior Design in 2021, which has strengthened my attention to detail - something that carries over naturally into eye health. I love helping people feel at ease during their visits and supporting our team in providing excellent service.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my husband, Landon, our daughter, Ella, and dog, Millie. I also enjoy relaxing with friends and family and winding down with a good TV show.

PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Hi, my name is Nickki! I bring over 10 years of experience in both customer service and healthcare. I grew up on a farm about 30 miles west of Fargo, and my background includes studies in Radiology and earning my CNA certification after working as a Patient Care Technician. Before joining the Lumen team, I developed a passion for helping others feel comfortable, happy, and cared for—something that continues to inspire me every day.

Working with children brings me so much joy; their energy and smiles always brighten my day. Outside of work, I love spending time with my rescue dog, Boston, who joined my life in July 2024. He's truly been one of the best things to happen to me, and I'm so grateful for him.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking for friends and family, playing board games, and watching movies or strategy/deduction shows on Netflix.

PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Hi, I’m Abby! I’ve been working in customer service for over six years, and I’ve worn glasses for as long as I can remember—so I truly understand the importance of great eye care. I grew up just 20 miles west of here in Casselton and am the youngest of three, with two older brothers.

I’m thrilled to be part of such a warm and welcoming team here at Lumen. In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, drawing, writing, and baking.

DIRECTOR OF VISION THERAPY

Hello, my name is Alyson! I moved to the area 11 years ago to attend Concordia College, where I obtained my Psychology degree before heading across the river to earn my M.Ed in School Counseling degree from NDSU. Before joining Team Lumen as a Vision Therapist, I worked as an Elementary School Counselor. I enjoy working one-on-one with kids and love the supporting role we play in their educational journey. It has been fun integrating my educational and counseling backgrounds into my work as a vision therapist. In my free time you can find me chasing my two young toddlers with my husband, Patrick. On the weekends we love going to the park or the zoo, playing outside, and walking our Beagle, Bailey. When I get the chance to relax, I love watching a good show, reading, and experimenting in the kitchen.

VISION THERAPY TEAM LEAD

I'm Emma, originally from Fargo, North Dakota. I'm a compassionate and upbeat individual; making a positive impact on people's lives is my burning passion. My academic journey led me to Minnesota State University Moorhead, where I obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education. My background in education has allowed me to work with individuals of all ages and abilities, both in classrooms and in our clinic.

Since January 2021, I've been fulfilling my dream as a vision therapist. What I love most about this role is connecting with patients on a personal level, witnessing their adaptability, growth, and newfound confidence. Having gone through two years of vision therapy myself during my younger days, I can truly empathize with what they are going through.

Beyond my professional life, nature is where I find true happiness. You can often spot me camping, hiking, or skiing. I'm also a proud dog mom, an avid reader, and I enjoy practicing yoga and cooking.

VISION THERAPIST

Hello! My name is Elise. I have worked previously at a preschool and absolutely love getting to interact with kiddos! I’m super passionate about what good eye care can do for individuals as I’ve seen it in my own life, needing vision therapy when I was younger. I am currently working towards my bachelor’s in early childhood education.
When I’m not working, you can find me partaking in “granny hobbies,” as I like to call them, which include things like crocheting, hand embroidery, or reading and writing poetry. You’ll also find me outside hiking, overlanding, or backpacking with my faithful German shepherd companion, Lena.

INSURANCE AND BILLING SPECIALIST

Hi! My name is Maria, and I have been in the eye care industry for over ten years. It is such a blessing to be part of Lumen Vision. Dr. Ryan changes lives, and I am honored to be on his team. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, spending time with loved ones, reading, crocheting, and journaling. My husband, Eric, and I live in West Fargo. We have three sweet, snuggly, and extremely spoiled dogs.

INSURANCE COORDINATOR

Hello, my name is Ally. I am a part-time Insurance Coordinator here at Lumen. Before joining Lumen’s amazing team, I worked as an Elementary Library Media Specialist. I am passionate about books, reading, and a good story. Formerly a Vision Therapist, I have been a part of Lumen's team for almost 2 years. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and crafting. My husband, daughter, and I live in West Fargo.

Hi, I’m Jasmine! I am a 4th year optometry student from Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Optometry. I am originally from St. Paul, MN but have family that lives in Hankinson, ND!

I’m excited to be part of the team here at Lumen Vision to continue to grow my knowledge about all things vision therapy and pediatrics!

In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, watching movies, and cooking!

OPTOMETRY EXTERN

Hi! My name is Michaela and I am a 4th year optometry student intern at Lumen Vision.  For the past three years I have attended the Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, AZ. Prior to optometry school, I received my bachelor’s degree in biology and health sciences from Trent University in my hometown of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. I am interested in pediatrics and vision therapy, so I am very grateful to have the opportunity to be interning at Lumen Vision.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, dancing, hiking, going to concerts, and binge watching my favourite TV shows. I love all things fall so I am excited to explore all the wonderful outdoorsy fall activities North Dakota has to offer.

FOUNDER, OPTOMETRIST

I’ve been working in Fargo as a pediatric and family optometrist since 2018. The best part about my job is helping children improve how their eyes move and focus together. It’s so rewarding (and so much fun!) to watch kids fall in love with reading for the first time once their eyes can track more efficiently. Plus, I get to work with the most amazing people!
